Use this page to request a scheduled conversation rather than a written reply. Four kinds of meeting are offered, and saying which one you want at the outset means the right amount of time is set aside.
Mentorship call
For clinicians and students on, or considering, the mentorship track. Forty-five minutes, one to one with Dr A M Thirugnanam. Mentees on the track have a standing monthly call and do not need to request one. Prospective applicants should apply first; an introductory conversation follows acceptance.
Academic and research discussion
For members bringing a research question, a protocol, a manuscript before submission, or a proposal for a multi-centre project. Come with a one-page outline: the question, why it matters, the population you can access and what you already have. Thirty minutes, with a reviewer working in that area. Institutional and bulk supply
For colleges, hospital libraries, departments, conference organisers and training programmes. Most of this is settled faster in writing — send the details listed on the bulk orders page first, and a call is useful afterwards for licensing terms or a custom edition.
Speaking, teaching and collaboration
For conference organisers, programme directors and editors: speaking invitations, faculty requests, foreword and endorsement enquiries, and joint teaching. Include the date, the audience, the format and the topic you have in mind.
How to request one
Write through the contact page stating which of the four you want, your name and post-nominals, your institution and city, your time zone, two or three windows that would work for you, and one paragraph on what you want out of the conversation. Requests are answered within three working days with a confirmed time and a joining link.
Before you book
A good many questions are answered faster elsewhere. Order, download and refund questions are covered on the orders page and the FAQ. Questions about which book or course suits your stage are usually settled by the collections page. Clinical questions about an individual patient cannot be answered here — the Academy is an educational body and does not provide consultation on named patients. De-identified teaching cases are very welcome at the weekly case discussion.
