Answers to the questions asked most often about the Academy reading list, courses, CME programmes, mentorship, membership and orders. If your question is not here, ask through the contact page.

Books and reading list

Are the Academy books printed or digital?

Titles in the Academy reading list are digital, supplied as PDF and in Kindle-compatible format, and several are also available in paperback through the publishing partner. The product page for each title states which formats that title is issued in.

How do I receive a book after buying it?

Digital titles are delivered by download link immediately after payment. The link is also stored against your account, so a lost email is not a lost book. If a download fails or the file will not open, ask for a replacement through the contact page and one is issued.

Can I read the books on a phone or tablet?

Yes. The PDF editions are laid out to remain readable on a phone, and the Kindle editions reflow. Tables of normal values and drug doses are set so that they do not break across a small screen.

How current is the content?

Clinical titles are revised when the underlying ACC, AHA or ESC guidance moves rather than on a fixed annual cycle. Where a recommendation is contested between the major societies, the disagreement is stated rather than reduced to a single position.

Can I buy a collection rather than individual titles?

Yes. The core collections group several titles that cover one training stage or subspecialty, and work out considerably cheaper than buying the same books separately.

Courses and CME

What is the difference between a course and a CME session?

A course is systematic and assessed, covering a subject from foundation to working competence over several modules. A CME session is a single accredited meeting on a current topic, with live case discussion and a certificate. Most clinicians use both.

Are courses self-paced or scheduled?

Both formats are offered. Self-paced modules open on enrolment and stay open. Live cohorts run to a published timetable and every session is recorded, so missing one does not put you behind.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes. Courses issue a certificate on completion of the assessment, and CME sessions issue a certificate of participation with credit hours, downloadable from your account.

I am not a cardiologist. Are the courses still useful?

Several are written specifically for clinicians outside cardiology — physicians, intensivists, emergency doctors, anaesthetists and nursing staff who manage cardiac patients. The ECG, heart failure and acute care material assumes no cardiology training.

Mentorship

How is mentorship different from a course?

A course teaches a subject. The mentorship track supervises a career: which subjects to prioritise in which year, when to start research so that it is published in time to count, which examination route to commit to, and how a fellowship application is actually read.

Is it too early to join in my first year?

It is the best time. A student who starts in the first year gets five or six years of guided progression rather than a final-year scramble, and the fee is the same whenever you join.

How much time does it take each month?

Four to six hours: one forty-five minute personal call, one live masterclass, and self-directed work from your roadmap. It is built to sit alongside a full medical course.

Membership

What does Academy membership include?

A verified listing in the member directory, access to the course programme and the case library, research and publication support, priority and reduced-rate CME registration, and eligibility for the annual awards.

How is my listing verified?

The Membership and Credentials Committee checks your primary medical qualification, your postgraduate training, and your current registration with the applicable medical council before a listing appears. Listings are reconfirmed annually.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes, at any time from your membership account. Cancellation stops future renewals; refunds for the current term are governed by the refund policy.

Orders and payment

Which payment methods are accepted?

Card, UPI, net banking and PayPal, processed through Razorpay and the publishing partner checkout. Full card details are never stored by the Academy.

Which currency am I charged in?

Indian rupees. International prices shown in US dollars are indicative and convert at the rate applied by your card issuer on the day.

Can I get an invoice for my institution?

Yes. Request one through the contact page with your order number and the billing details your institution requires, including any tax registration number.

Do you take bulk orders for a department?

Yes. Bulk licensing for a department, training programme or hospital library is arranged individually. Send the number of users and the titles or courses wanted through the contact page.

Account and support

I cannot log in. What should I do?

Use the password reset link on the log-in page first. If the reset email does not arrive, check the spam folder, then write through the contact page with the email address on the account.

How quickly are queries answered?

Support queries are acknowledged within two working days. Refund requests are decided within seven working days. Mentorship applications are answered within three working days.

Can I submit a case or an image for publication?

Yes, and members are encouraged to. Cases go to the case library or the weekly case discussion; single images go to the image of the month. Everything must be fully de-identified, including the DICOM header.
