The Academy runs four kinds of event. They differ in length, in accreditation and in who they are aimed at, and it is worth knowing which is which before registering.
Accredited CME meetings
Single-topic accredited sessions combining a concise evidence review with live case discussion and open questioning. Held online and streamed from Hyderabad, with a certificate and credit hours issued on completion. Dates, fees and registration are on the CME page.
Weekly case discussion
Four standing sessions a week, free and open to any registered doctor: interventional case review on Monday, ECG and arrhythmia on Wednesday, complex grand rounds on Friday and trainee presentations on Saturday. No registration is required for attendance, but presenters submit in advance. Full schedule at the case discussion forum.
Workshops
Longer, smaller, hands-on. Workshops cover skills that cannot be taught by lecture — echocardiographic image acquisition, ECG reading under time pressure, haemodynamic interpretation, and case-based decision drills. Places are limited by design, and Academy members have priority.
Live case transmission
Procedures transmitted from the catheterisation laboratory with commentary and questions taken during the case. The teaching value is in the decisions taken while the outcome is still unknown, which is why these are not recorded-and-edited sessions.
Annual awards
The Academy’s annual awards, including Scholar of the Year and Icon of the Year, are presented at a dedicated meeting. Nominations open earlier in the year; criteria and process are on the nominations page.
Registering
Register through the contact page or from your membership account. Members receive advance notice, priority places on capped workshops and a reduced rate on accredited meetings; see membership categories.
Proposing a session or speaking
Clinicians who want to present at a case session, teach a workshop or propose a CME topic should write through the contact page with the subject, the format and what a participant would be able to do afterwards that they cannot do now. Faculty invitations are decided by the Academic and Scientific Committee described on the committee page.
